What is That on My Patrol Car !?!
Today was Zachary's last day of school...he had lots of fun at Field & Water Day. Afterward, we enjoyed lunch with Dad and a co-worker at Seneca Family Restaurant. The boys and I left a few minutes early and when Officer Dad came out to his car, this is what he found....something on the hood of his patrol car!

The cutest little boy ever, who was just dying to "sit" on Dad's Police Car. David is lucky I just sat him on the hood. Zachary tried to climb up the back of the car and over the lights!! I had to intervene, we do not need to buy a police car!

Trinity's End of The Year Program
Last night, we enjoyed an End of The Year Program at Zachary's School. Unfortunately for Zachary, he refused to take a nap in the afternoon so he was in rare form last night. After his part of the program, we all had to sneak out of the Chapel because Zachary would not behave and William was crying! Life with two kids...ever changing!
Before we left for the program...
Here is the Two Year Old portion of the program...keep in mind Zachary is without a nap so he is in another world, I think. The videos are in three separate pieces. The young girl in the beginning with long brown hair is his teacher, Miss Ashley!
I wish the picture was clearly but our video cameras batteries were both dead last night. This was recorded with my inexpensive camera...at least I was able to capture everything! Enjoy!!
You can not see the end clearly, but the kids all learned to "wink." It was so cute. And yes, our child is the one with his hand in his pants at the end of the program! We are trying so hard with potty training that now he is always "touching it." Like it is going to disappear, or something! Oh, boys will be boys!
Zachary was excited yet sad going to school today...it is his last day of school for this school year. Today they are celebrating by having Field & Water Day. Lucky for mom, Zachary will be starting summer school in a week were he will go MWF from 7:30am-12:30pm - he is so excited because he can "eat lunch with my friends."

Freecycle!
I follow a site called Freecycle...it is people giving away stuff to prevent stuff from going to the landfills. Like the saying says...one person's trash is another person's treasure. So far, it has worked well for me. I have received numerous cans of formula that were unopened and coupons for free formula. And I have given away stuff that we no longer needed. I use to give to Goodwill but they turn around and sell it. Everything is free on this site.

Today, I received a Train Table from a really nice lady that lives in Walhalla. I could not believe she just wanted to give it away!! FREE!! Zachary loves it and it even has drawers underneath to store his trains!!

He has another small table that he uses for Legos that we moved to his room...yes, it is 9pm and he is in his room playing with Legos. But all is quiet downstairs!!

William's Attempts at Crawling...
It is so funny to watch William attempt to crawl. He is able to get up on his knees into a crawling position and rock back and forth. The funniest thing is how he gets up on his toes...almost like push-ups. He is so strong! Enjoy the video!!

"The Skin You Are In"
Today, we went to Zachary's second class at the Greenville Zoo called "The Skin You Are In." It was all about animal skin. We played at different stations, played with a Gecko, pet a white snake, made a craft and enjoyed a green rice krispie treat. Zachary and I had a lot of one-on-one fun together!!

He Did It!
I know you fellow mothers out there know how it feels to finally have your child "do it"...Zachary pooped in the potty! We danced all around like crazy people and made a huge production out of it. We have been working on potty training for weeks and I think it finally "clicked" with him. He has done well with peeing but has acted scared to "poop" in the potty. We have worn big boy underwear all week... even went to the zoo, store, barber shop, etc with no accidents. And he has had no accidents all week at school!! Yeah!! Best of all, he gets to move up the first week of June to the three year old class...they had been telling us they were planning on hold him back for the summer since he was not potty trained. Yeah for Zachary!!
William's Attempts at Movement!
William scoots from one place to the other very slowly when he wants to...the funniest is when he gets up on his feet with his forehead on the ground. It is just so hard to get it on video tape because he starts laughing as soon as he realizes you are watching him. Notice his superman stance whild he is on his belly...his arms and legs are always flailed outward! Enjoy!!

Back to the MD for Will
I took William back to the doctor today to check on his ear. He is still having drainage and he is pulling at his ears. The doctor said both ears looked better...far from normal but it the healing process! That is peace of mind for mommy!! Exactly what I wanted to hear!!

Smelly Boy!
Since William has a ruptured ear drum, we are supposed to keep water away from his head so we have just ignored bathing him. Well, tonight was enough. He smelled worse than Bailey, the smelly outdoor dog who rolled in the wet grass this morning. So, we gave William a quick "sink" bath and he loved it!

Although William's ear looks better, I think I am going to call his doctor in the morning to see if he can look at his ear again. His left ear in draining less but it is thicker and almost pus-like. I am just concerned because he is so young and I do not want to overlook anything, especially when it comes to his hearing!! Please pray his ear drum looks alright and is healing properly!

Family Sickness!
In addition to William being sick, I now have double ear infections and severe tonsillitis. I was up all night last night with cold sweats and a fever of 102. After waiting three hours at Clemson Urgent Care, I finally saw a doctor. The MD said that my tonsils are so swollen that he was surprised that I could even breath. They gave me two injections and two antibiotics. He has now referred me to an ENT because he thinks I need a tonsillectomy. David and I have each had tonsillitis /strep throat at least three times this year. David was referred to an ENT a few weeks ago for a possible tonsillectomy. So, it looks like we both may have our tonsils taken out soon!

Sleepless in Seneca...
Well, one night of antibiotics and William is a little better but still very fussy. He woke up this morning with another large ring of brownish drainage on his sheets. He has dried crusty drainage around his ear and running down the side of his face. Finally, I was able to get him to eat this morning. With double ear infections, he has not wanted to eat because of the pain of sucking on the bottle. Although he does not eat much formula, he loves eating his bananas! Believe it or not, Big Brother Zachary is a big help...he loves giving William his medicine and is constantly checking on him to make sure he is okay! Hopefully, we will make a quick recovery to complete wellness!!

Not Just a Tooth...
Well, my last post about William was that he cut his first tooth Sunday night. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday he was a bit cranky, drooling like crazy, took lots of Tylenol and had a occasional drop of blood on his gums from the tooth cutting through the skin. Well, starting Wednesday night and Thursday morning, things took a different turn...

William is normally a very easy happy baby but Thursday we could not control his pain at all. We started alternating Tylenol and Motrin with not much help. Thursday night he started running a fever of 102 and I noticed clear fluid coming out of his left ear. He did not sleep Thursday night and would not eat as normal. I decided Thursday night that I would take him to the doctor first thing Friday. After only a few hours sleep, I went to get William up out of bed Friday morning and there was a pool of reddish brown drainage on his sheets - more drainage that I could have ever imagined coming from a child's ear. I thought...ear infection that lead to a ruptured ear drum! Great!
This is what his ear looks like this morning...I promise it did not look like this when I put him to bed or we would have made a visit to the doctor yesterday!

The fluid kept draining the entire way to the doctor...and yes, he has bilateral ear infections with one ruptured ear drum! Ouch!! I felt so bad waiting all week but the doctor said that if I had called they would have recommended teething treatments unless he produced a fever. I hate I waited all week but how was I to know it was not "just teething!" The fever did not start until Thursday night!
We have to go back in two weeks to make sure the ear drum heals itself. Being so young, there is a possibility that it may not heal and he may need tubes put in! Yikes!! For now, he is on two antibiotics - one by mouth and an ear drop! I hope he gets feeling better soon!

Our only problem this morning is with the medicine... the ear drop will not even go in his left ear because of all the fluid coming out! Hopefully that will decrease so I can get the drops in there!!

I absolutely hate watching one of my boys sick!! Pray we make a quick recovery and that Big Brother Zachary gives William so peaceful rest!

William's First Tooth!
William's First tooth has made its grand appearance today. We have been able to see a small white cap just under the skin for weeks but today it broke threw the skin...and he knew it. He had dried blood on his bottom lip after his nap today. He has also been usually cranky and has been taking Tylenol around the clock.
If you look closely, you can see the tooth! It is like a sharp razor when he bites you!

He has already met all of the developmental milestones for six months...
He...
- coos and babbles - sometimes it sounds like an entire conversation of unrecognizable words
- rolls over front to back as well as back to front
- will follow and look for a toy that drops out of sight
- has no head lag when he is sitting up
- holds objects and can transfer the object from hand to hand
- can reach and pick up an object in front of him
- recognizes mom, dad and Zachary
- laughs and squeals
- is eating "baby foods"...reaches for the spoon and has his mouth wide open for each bite
- constantly moves his gums around, like he is eating -- looks like he is chewing up something
- bears weight on his legs and loves standing in his Baby Einstein
- has his first tooth
- attempts to military crawl with his elbows - loves doing push-ups
- hates being on his back but loves his stomach
- moves all around his crib
He is such a joyful child and I would have a dozen more if they were just like him (and were free)!

Happy Mother's Day
For me, I enjoy Mother's Day every day of the year with my two wonderful boys. It is such an awesome feeling to be a mother! Since I am still working weekend nights (and only weekend nights), the actually holiday of Mother's Day was spent in a warm and quiet bed while David and the boys went to Great Grandmother Orr's house.

Zachary's Mother's Day Celebration
Today, Zachary had a Mother's Tea at school. We enjoyed lunch and the kids had made us several gifts. Can you believe it...I did not take my camera! But here is a picture of my flowers...

"I love our good morning dances
and night time lullabies
I love the way you look at me
with a smile in your eyes
I love your thousand kisses
and your millions of hugs
You are the sweetest of all mommies
and the one I will always love!"

Starting Early!
David can not wait until the boys are old enough to help with yard work. At three years old, Zachary loves helping "daddy." (Not sure how to rotate the clip but you get the picture).
