Happy Birthday Mason!

This afternoon, Zachary and I went to Mason's 2nd Birthday Party where the Clemson Tiger made a grand appearance. Most of the kids were scared of the big Clemson Tiger but Zachary climbed right up into his arms! Happy Birthday Mason!

Family Visit

Today, we had a visit from Michael, Christine & Madeline as well as Grandmother & Granddad. We were able to get some pictures of the three kids together!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving...we have a healthy newborn, a semi well-behaved two-year old, a good marriage, our good health, great parents who have helped us a lot with our kids, job security, a nice house, and so much more! Today, we just spent time together with our two wonderful kids. Zachary is adjusting well but, of course, has some jealously issues that will resolve. Today, Zachary and I gave Will his first sponge bath! Zachary loves to help with anything and everything! I am feeling great and feel well-rested today. David has been wonderful helping with Zachary while I primarily tend to Will. We hope everyone also had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Luck to all those early bird shoppers tomorrow for Black Friday!

Will's First Doctors Appt

Today, Will had is first doctor's appt in Greenville. He weighed 6lbs 3 ozs (which is great because he only weighed 5lbs 10ozs Sunday when we were discharged). Everything else looked good except his skin and eyes are a little jaundice (which the doctor said was frequently seen after birth). We have to return in one week to recheck his weight and monitor the jaundice (which should be resolved by next week). As far as home life...things have definitely changed in the Philpott house. Will eats every three hours and sleeps most of the time in between feedings. Zachary is adjusting well and loves his little brother. He tries to help with everything. Last night, David and I turned around for only a second and Zachary had Will in his arms carrying him across the room. Luckily, he did not pick him up by the neck. He had one arm under his head, one arm under his legs and had Will tight on his chest. Zachary was carrying him just right but hopefully will not try that again!

Big Brother Pictures

Zachary has been a great Big Brother to Will this week. He helps change diapers, feed and is always running to check and see what Will may be doing (usually sleeping or eating). Here are a few cute pics to enjoy!

Home at Last!

Today, we were discharged home with our new little angel. He is so perfect and Zachary is being a very helpful big brother! William is doing okay with breast feeding and weighed 5lbs 10ozs last night. Hopefully, his weight will pick up once my milk lets down. Enjoy the pics!

Happy Birthday William!

Well, here is the story of Friday...David and I woke up Friday morning at 3am and headed off to Greenville Memorial for our scheduled induction. When we arrived, I was already 4cm dilated and 60% effaced...Yeah! We were quickly checked in to a Labor & Delivery room at 6am by my private nurse (Tammy - thanks a million), immediately started Pitocin, had my water broken at 7am, epidural at 8am, and started the waiting game. My contractions quickly began and I slowly continued to dilate and efface. Jennifer, my sister, was in the room as our personal photographer. Around 1:30pm, my nurse decided to turn me completely on my left side as far as possible because the baby was not dropping down. Within minutes, I could feel the baby dropping down and felt alot of pressure in my bottom. They re-dosed my epidural and did a quick exam...the head was crowning. Everyone quickly got in position...I pushed for two contractions over about four minutes and William Scott was born at 1:52pm...6lbs, 6 ozs, Apgar 9/9, just perfect!

David was not interested in cutting the cord, so I did. William stayed on my chest for about 15 minutes and then was taken for his exam, footprints, weight, etc. As far as me, I had no tears or anything! Great! William's body temp was below 97.0 so he spent several hours in the nursery under a warmer and getting his first bath. Zachary and several family members visited after his birth and enjoyed meeting our newest addition!

Off To The Hospital!

Today is the day and by no surprise, I did not sleep at all last night. I finally fell asleep around midnight only to awake at 2am ready to go. So, I have been up and ready for awhile now doing last minute dishes and laundry. David is not so quick on getting up this early and getting ready to go. I am sitting here waiting on him. I guess, being the one pregnant, I am the one ready to get this show on the road. Please keep us in your thought and prayers and hope this is a speedy delivery (once we get to the hospital)!

We Are Having a Baby TOMORROW!

Well, Will's grand appearance is scheduled for tomorrow by induction (I was induced with Zachary and with a second child it is so much easier to try and plan things). Zachary is going to Mimi & Popi's House tonight and staying with them until Sunday while we are at the hospital (Thanks Mom!). I think he understands what is going to happen. You ask him were Mom is going and he says "hospital to get baby." He says he is going to come see Mom at the hospital and bring his baby brother a present that he wrapped. I am so excited to see how he responds to his little brother! We have to be at the hospital by 6AM! So, that means we will be leaving by 5AM! I figure, I will probably not be able to sleep anyway. My sister, Jennifer is coming into town tonight to spend the day with us tomorrow taking pictures to document all the events! Hopefully, the labor will be quick and painless. Please keep us in your prayers as we welcome Baby Philpott #2.

38 WEEKS PREGNANT and Only 7 Days to Go!

Today marks 38 weeks and exactly one week until William Scott arrives. We have our induction scheduled and have to be at Greenville Memorial at 6am Friday Nov 21...I do not mind the early time because I will not be able to sleep regardless. Jennifer, my sister, will be with us as our personal photographer to capture all the moments of the birth. We really enjoy having all the pictures from Zachary's birth. David will have too much going on and will not be able to focus on taking pictures!

Here is a little about Will...Our baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which we will soon be able to test when we hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. We can not wait!

8 Days To Go!

We are counting down the days til Will's grand appearance. Today, Zachary and I spent most of the day cleaning and they we started decorating for Christmas. I know, I know...it is too early. But, after next Friday I will not feel like decorating and this year is a big Christmas for all of us...so Zach and I got a jump start. Zach loved putting out the decorations and it was nice doing it with just him! He needs the one-on-one time right now!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! Thanks for everything you do for us and Zachary. We love you!

10 DAYS!

We are finally counting down the days until "Will" makes his grand appearance, if not earlier! We have had lots of baby talk in our house this week!

We May Have A Name!?

We (think) have agreed on a name: William Scott Philpott (Will).
"William" is of English origin and means Strong-Willed Warrior and Protector. We have many Williams in our families. "Scott" means Painted Warrior and is my youngest brother, Michael's middle name. David and I feel that both are strong names with symbolic meanings to us. Zachary says he likes the name and can easily say "Will." He is making his grand appearance within the next TWELVE DAYS!

Today's MD Appt

At my doctor's appointment today, my blood pressure was still elevated just a little and there was some protein in my urine. The baby's heartrate was still in the 140's which is normal. I will the doctor again next Friday. If I do not go into labor on my own, I will have an induction scheduled for Friday November 21. We are excited because it will all be planned and we will not be eating Thanksgiving turkey in the hospital!

Weekly Progress Report

Zachary had fun at school this week and came home with many Halloween crafts. As you can see from his progress report, he is still not doing very well with listening and following directions (but he is only two years old!).
