1st Grade Teacher

What a difference a teacher makes!  

Zachary's 1st grade teacher is Mrs Gordy.  She has been a teacher for 18 years and is an absolute blessing for Zachary!  He comes home every day talking about...

how much he is learning, 

how much fun he is having, 

how many friends he is making, 

how nice his teacher is and 

how much he loves his new school!  

Such a vast difference than his experiences last year!  For the first time,  

I am just as excited as Zachary is for school each morning!

Zachary's 2nd Dirt Bike Race

Today, Zachary raced in his 2nd Dirt Bike Race.   I love this group of riders...they pray before the race, bless each of the bikes and encourage kids to stay on top of homework if they wanna continue racing!

And off he goes with other Pee Wee and Super Pee Wee riders.  They are so darn cute...

And thirty minutes later, checking in at the finish line.  A barcode on Zachary's helmet is scanned at the completion of each lap as well as at the finish line in order to track his times...

After the race...

Uncle Bryan and his girlfriend Kim came to cheer him on!

After the race, the kids are lined up in order of finishing at the podium and interviewed.  Zachary came in 8th.  At this age, we talk about how important it is to finish the race and not what place you finish in!

Next up...

David's race!  It was so dusty from them riding so fast that is was almost impossible to see the riders most of the time!

Zachary's First Day of First Grade

Race Preparation!

Zachary is getting ready for his 2nd Dirt Bike race next weekend so today we all headed up the mountain to ride some trails that will be similar to the race event!  Boy is he fast!

We had a wonderful time with Aunt Jen and Mike.  Mike also had great surprises for us...

Hilton Head Beach Weekend!

The boys and I had a wonderful time at the beach with Aunt Jennifer! 

Museum Trip

Jennifer took us today to show us where she will be getting married in September...and they were having a special event for kids!!  Right up our alley!

 First, we learned about crabs...how to catch them, cook them and eat them.  The boys were happy to hit them with the hammer but would not touch.  The could have held a real one but both preferred the plastic crab...

 Next, we visited the Butterfly Garden to learn about caterpillars to butterflies...

 Then, we tie dyed a rag with berries...

The place was beautiful and the boys had a great time!

Kayaking

Since I was off work for several days, the boys and I decided to pack up and visited Aunt Jennifer in Hilton Head.  After a long drive with two loud boys, we made it to Hilton Head.

That afternoon, we visited Palmetto Bluff where Jennifer worked for years.  And she surprised us with an afternoon of KAYAKING on the ocean with dolphins!  I was very scared at first but we all had fun.   Zachary and I were in one Kayak while Jennifer and Will were in another.  The boys each had their own oars and did great!  It was so much fun!

Water Fun Day!

Today, the boys Summer School Program had Water Fun Day...super duper water slide, inflatable obstacle course and a water wall provided by the Seneca Fire Department.  All the kiddos had a blast!
