Memorial Day!

We had a great Memorial Day at our Aunt Kay's River House...swimming and fishing in the swimming hole...
If you have never swam in a river way up in the mountains...it is COLD! Even when it is 90 degrees outside!
We had worms to go fishing too. Zachary would not pick up a worm to put on the hook but Will not only picked it up but played around with it. He is ALL BOY!

David teaching Zachary to fish for the first time!

Zachary's FIRST fish...a trout!
Of course, William will touch anything and immediately wanted to pick up and carry the fish away!

The boys spent a lot of quality time floating around in the float...

Will and Bailey (not our Bailey)...
Will after he found some melted chocolate...
Zachary releasing his fish (some dead, some alive)...

Not only did we enjoy a great day but Aunt Kay also cooked us all dinner...
Thanks Aunt Kay for a great day on the river!

Water Day at Trinity

Today was Water Day at Trinity and the kiddos had a blast despite the cold weather!
The 2 yr olds went out to play first...this is the four year olds watching in excitement!

Will was not interested in doing the Slip-n-Slide until I put him down the first time. The school uses a huge tarp on a big hill and slicks up everyone with baby shampoo! This will be a popular summer event too!

The best part for William was the FireTruck that provided the wall of water!

William had to make sure he got a picture sitting on the FireTruck!

This is all of William's school friends. Will will remain in this class next year while all of his friends will move up to the 3 yr old class! He has made some good friends!

We are excited to have Mrs. Sissy & Mrs. Julie next year!

Zachary loved the water wall too but the best part for him and the other boys in his class was...the MUD HOLES the water made!

Zachary and Logan chilling in the mud holes...

William had a lot of fun playing until he realized how cold it was...then he sat wrapped up in a towel to keep warm!

One of the teachers, Ginger, braved the Slip-n-Slide with the kiddos...

This is Zachary and his good friend Cheyanne. Both are going to Blue Ridge Elem. next year and I hope they are in the same class!

Zachary had a wonderful year with Mrs. Rebecca and her class. We had our ups and our downs; our good days and our bad days. We were blessed to have a teacher so patient and kind! I look forward to William being in Mrs. Rebecca's class in a few years!

Trinity End of Year Program!

Tonight was Zachary & William's End of the Year Program at school. Both boys participated in a very cute singing program with their classes. William stood on stage with his class - sucking his thumb most of the time. He did a few hand movements and hops but did not sing anything. Th He was just precious! Zachary had a great time too and did wonderful! Afterwards, we enjoyed receptions with the boys classes.

Mrs. Christine & Mrs. Rebecca

Each child in Zachary's class was given an award by his teacher, Mrs Rebecca. Zachary won...

THE MARSHMALLOW AWARD

"This award is presented to Zachary for your sweet and spunky personality. Zachary you are always willing to play with everyone in the class. Always willing to help me with the classroom. You are flexible when need be and like a marshmallow, explosive when heated. You would explode with excitement over an activity or project. This is one of the things I love most about you! You have a love for your friends, school and life and I hope you are forever this way. I love you!!" Mrs. Rebecca

Zachary was also given a bag of goodies to prepare for kindergarten...pencil holder, pencils, sharpener, scissors, erasers and a book about kindergarten. It is hard to believe my little angle will be in "big school" next year!

William's class also had a great reception...the children gathered around a small table and shoveled as much sweets into their little mouths as possible! This age is so cute. His teachers, Mrs. Julie and Mrs. Sissy also gave the kids a wonderful gift bag!
William will stay in this class next year as he was actually moved up a class in December to try to help his speech! It has helped him bloom a lot this year!

Brotherly Love...

Zachary's School Artwork

Zachary's teachers presented each child with a "Memory Book" of their year at school. Each book is individualized to each student and has pictures of things they have done throughout the year.

What a great idea ~

Artwork that Zachary created for the ART SHOW!

Zachary's self portrait...

I have decided that I can not physically keep all of the boys artwork, although I really want to. So I decided to start taking pictures and blogging them. Each year, I print the blog so I will always have pictures of their artwork!

Pancakes for Dad Day!

Today, the boys had Pancakes for Dad day at Trinity where the Dad's all came and enjoyed breakfast with their sons. They will not be in school for Father's Day so they celebrate a little early! They had made several things for the dad's but the greatest was this questionnaire below! David and I laughed out loud!

My Daddy is My Hero
by Zachary Philpott

My Daddy's name is David Dad
He is 14 years old and weighs 100lbs.
He has bald hair and brown eyes.
My daddy drives a white jeep to work and a white truck to get wood.
When he goes to work, he shoots bad guys.
When he isn't working he works outside with me and we build a treehouse.
The best thing me and my daddy do together is make forts and ride dirtbikes.
He is funniest when he works outside.
The nicest thing my daddy does for me is plays with me.
When I do something that I should n't do, he sends me to timeout.
I know my daddy loves me because he hugs me when I go to sleep.

Mother's Day Surprise

For Mother's Day, the boys and David worked really hard on a vegetable garden that will keep giving all summer long...
