Temper Tantrum!

As a family, we do not go out to dinner much unless there is a children's playground to entertain Zachary - three can be a difficult age for eating away from home. We decided to go out tonight with some friends and our kids to get Mexican. It was a disaster. Zachary would not sit down and I finally had to take him to the car kicking and screaming - I think people thought I was kidnapping him. He rarely throws a tantrum but when he does, he shows out. I video taped him once we finally got him into the car - he will regret this later. He has bruises on his shoulders from fighting the car seat. As imagined, he went straight to bed when we got home!

Lots of New Stuff

Our computer is finally up and running...I have posted many new things that we have done the past couple of weeks!

Jail Bird

Yesterday, we took a family trip to Walmart (which David absolutely hates because he is alwayrs called there while working). We collected our stuff, checked out and headed to the door. David says to me, there is "__ and ___." I did not pay much attention until I heard him say, "they are going after someone." I looked up and saw three people dressed in street clothes headed towards the same exit that we are headed. They confronted a nice looking gentleman in his thirties who was walking with his wife and two children. The wife took the children towards the exit and the man turned to return in the store with the employees. All of the sudden, the man tried to run and was taken down to the ground by the female employee in an instant (I was highly inmpressed and told David that she needs to work for the Sherriff's Office). The man's children were crying and yelling why are they doing that to my dad. This all happen in front of us as we were walking from the register through the exit doors - the whole incident was a matter of seconds. We headed to the car while David waited around to make sure he was not going to try to run again.

On the way home, Zachary was asking millions of questions. We explained to him about stealing, telling the truth and what happens if you break the laws. He talked about it all last night and this morning.

Today, David just happened to be working at the County Jail so we decided to take him lunch. Zachary was so excited to go to the big office and see the jail. We drove around the jail and looked at the bars on the windows. We, then, had lunch in the Law Enforcement Center where the police men work. Zachary learned a lot of life lessons first hand! It is so cute to listen to him tell the story and what he learned!!

Another Ear Infection...

Zachary was up crying all night Sunday night. He called me at work Sunday night saying "I need to go hospital. My ear hurts." David says he was up all night crying. We met at the Christie Group this morning hoping they could see him as soon as they opened. Of course, he has an ear infection! The doctor swabbed him for strep since David and I keep getting recurrent strep throat...he did not have strep!

Happy Birthday Madeline!

Today, we celebrated Madeline's 1st Birthday! We had BBQ & cake for lunch - everyone loved the cake except the Birthday Girl...she did not enjoy getting messy! Totally opposite from both of my boys who stay messy and love rubbing food all over their body!

So cute...Zachary gave Madeline a Birthday Kiss...

Hidden Video!

Everyday, the boys play together in their playroom without direct supervision. They take a clean organized playroom and turn it into a disaster area! I love to hide in the dining room and capture how they interact together.

Funny Story...

After getting in the shower, I was standing in my bathroom getting ready. Zachary comes in the bathroom holding his privates so here is our conversation...

"Zachary, why are you holding your penis? Do you have to go to the bathroom?"

"No, mom."

"Zachary, we do not walk around holding our private parts. You do not see Dad walking around holding his penis, do you?"

"No. " He looks down, kinda confused.

"Zachary, why are you still holding your penis?"

"I have to mom. It will fall off like yours."

I could not help it, I rolled over laughing...and changed the subject really fast!

Potty Training Success!

Zachary is finally 100% potty trained. He has been successfully pooping in the potty for a week. I am not too sure what "clicked" for him but he now fully understands with no reminders. As a reward, he was able to pick anything from the toy store. He picked two floor puzzles and loves them! He had to have his picture taking with his completed puzzles!

Stray Puppy!

So, our neighbor's wife / child moved out and left their new puppy with the soon to be x-husband who does not want the puppy. Blah. Blah. Blah. The puppy is absolutely adorable and great with kids. We were seriously thinking of keeping him when he "disappeared" (so the neighbors say). They knew we would have adopted him so I do not think they would have taken him to the pound. Zachary says he was run over by the fast cars on our street. I wish I knew where he was....he was so darn cute and friendly!

Big Step at School

Today was a milestone for Zachary at school...he transitioned into the THREE YR OLD CLASS. Yes, I know he has been three since April; however, he was a late potty trainer (particularly because of the new brother) and he was held back in the twos class for the summer since he was not potty trained at the end of the school year. Finally, he is back with all of his friends. I hated that they held him back because that put him in a class with mostly new friends who were younger than him - most of them were young twos who had moved up from the ones class. I am glad to see that he is back with children his own age! And, boy is he happy to be with those friends!

Funny Story

When I woke up today, Zachary and I went to get Will up from his nap. The first thing I noticed when I picked up Will was the nickel size scratch on his chin and two scratches on his head. I turned to Zachary and said "what happen to your brother?" Zachary said "he fell and hit the window and fell in the laundry basket." What? Fell in the laundry basket? And yes, David was changing him on the changing table and Will wiggled out of his arms and fell off the table into the laundry basket! I think we are going to have our hands full with Will...constantly on the go, exploring and moving!
