Will vs Hammer Accident
Today, Zachary was walking with a hammer when he tripped and fell towards Will. As he fell, the claw of the hammer hit Will in the face. It cut his face from underneath his nose thru his upper lip. There was blood...lots of blood. Zachary did the right thing and stayed with his brother until an adult could help. We rushed Will to Greenville Memorial where we immediately saw a Plastic Surgeon who fixed him right up! Luckily all his teeth were intact! Will was such a brave boy thru the entire thing!

Medical Mission Trip - Day 7
Today we worked a clinic at the public school in LaCienega. These children are so happy with so little. We screened them for scolosis, heart & lung problems, vision, ear issues and tooth decay. So may of the children had teeth that were completely rotted but they did not complain!

Medical Mission Trip - Day 5
Today, we took an especially early start so that we could see the remaining children at the public school. It is amazing how great these children were to us!
After seeing the remaining kids a the public school, we did Health related activities at a New Missions school in Bombita. The environment at this school was very different than the public schools! The children we awesome! We had classes on proper hand washing and brushing your teeth. Every child received a toothbrush and toothpaste! They were so excited!
This little boy was the sweetest. I am waiting to hear if he has a sponsor, if not, I plan on becoming his sponsor. In the DR, they call you their God Mother!
Later in the evening, we visited a few people in their homes. What a difference from our homes!

Medical Mission Trip - Day 3
Day 3
Today we held a medical clinic in the morning at the New Mission Health Clinic and hosted a Diabetes Health Event in the afternoon. So many lives touched today thru health assessments, medication administration and education!
We saw lots of sick children - whom in our country - would probably be hospitalized. This little boy was so sweet. His whole family was very sick!
This lady came to the Diabetic Education event. When she checked in her blood sugar was almost 600. We advised her to go to the hospital but just like most, she did not. She did stay for the whole event and hopefully, took home lots of good information. At the end, we gave participants a free glucose monitor. She was so thankful as she had not been checking her blood sugars!
We taught them the importance of checking blood sugars, healthy weight, easy exercises, proper nutrition, medication management and so much more! They all were very interested in helping their diabetes! One gentleman had almost no feeling or circulation to his lower legs and several had wounds of their feet from neuropathy!
Each day after a hard days work...we ended with a beautiful sunset!
Makes me very thankful for what we have!
