Snow Days...

We only got a little snow but Zachary had a wonderful time playing in it for about thirty minutes...

Disagreement with Scissors!

Zachary had a disagreement with the scissors this morning. He not only chopped it up in the front but you can also see the spikes on the top of his head. It was no small cut nor was it a single cut. I think every child does it once in their lifetime. When I asked Zachary what happened, he said he did not want to grow his hair out anymore so he cut it. And then he cried for about fifteen minutes after looking in the mirror. I told him it was just hair and it would grow back. This is the before of Zachary's haircut...

So, I decided it was time to see a professional barber. And the barber chuckled and said there was no way to fix it but give him a crew cut and wait for the hair to grow back probably close to summertime. He had a crew cut this summer so I knew it would not be bad but I really wanted Zachary's hair to grow out. Here is his pictures after seeing a professional...

We went a met David before the haircut and boy was he surprised. We also went and met David after getting the haircut. He was speechless. I could tell in his face that this haircut is not quite what he was expecting. I do not know which shocked David more - Zach cutting his hair or the resulting buzz cut! Now, Zachary loves to say "feel my head!" What a darling child!

Luckily, Zachary loves his haircut. He saws he looks more like Dad now! Oh, the excitement of having children!

Soccer Time!

Zachary started indoor soccer today and absolutely loved it! Yesterday, we went "soccer shopping." Zachary picked out new soccer shorts, socks, shinguards, ball and a sports fleece pullover. He was so excited. He was a little shy at first but had a great time. One of his coaches came out to our car and asked Zachary if he had fun and if he would be back next week...Zachary's response was yeah, but what about tomorrow?"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID!

David turned 33 today! Of course, he worked and the boys and I stayed busy. We cooked salmon for dinner and enjoyed cupcakes! Happy Birthday David!

Chilly Day for Sickness!

Zachary's picture is this morning as he was trying to entertain himself at his workbench. William's picture was a few days ago.

Today, I am forced to stay in the house alone with two ill-feeling crabby, snotty boys while a chance of snow threatens us outdoors. Will has had a fever for a day, vomited this morning, is not eating much and just does not feel good. He is getting Tylenol and Motrin around the clock and has gotten frequent baths to help decrease his temperature. Zachary has a barking cough and a free flowing nose (what three year old doesn't). I am about tired of saying cover you mouth, go wash your hands and do not wipe that there. In addition, I worked last night so I have been walking around like a grumpy old zombie. Thanks Mariko for the Pedilyte run this morning. I was too tired to be taking both boys to the store and with my luck, Will would puke in the store and Zachary would make a scene! Not a day I am willing to take the risk!

Which Sport Shall It Be?

Well, Zachary is finally enrolled in his first team sport. David is a soccer man, I prefer baseball. Both are primarily Spring and Summer sports. The Clemson YMCA offers indoor soccer for 3-4 yr olds. They will begin Jan 14 and practice once a week inside the "Big Red Barn" at Clemson's "Y" beach - walking distance from the football stadium. Zachary is so excited and ready to play. They will concentrate on teamwork rather than game play...I think that is best for a three or four year old. I will post pictures next week of his first practice!
