Supercross in Atlanta

David and Zachary love dirt bikes so we spent the weekend in Atlanta to enjoy the SuperCross races! We stayed in the Hilton and had a city view room on the PentHouse suite! Not sure how that happened but we loved it! What a great view!
As soon as we arrived on Friday afternoon, Zachary was ready to see the city!

We walked through Centennial Park where Zachary made three wishes in the fountain...

We did a lot of walking and enjoyed Oven Bake Pizza downtown for dinner. This was a very tiring day for Zachary. He went to sleep easily...
Face of innocence...
Saturday morning, we enjoy breakfast and then headed off to the "pits" to meet some of the riders. Zachary was all decked out in his SuperCross gear.

He really wanted to meet James Bubba Stewart and get his autograph so we headed there first. Unfortunately on the first so many people got autographs and it would be at least a three hour standing in line. So David and I took turns holding our spot in line. In the meantime, they had all kinds of this to do in the pits (if you don't mind the crowds)...

For a while, Zachary and I just stood at the entrance where the riders would ride through when returning from practice. For a while, we were the only ones there but it was what Zachary wanted to do. He high-fived many of the riders as they drove by...
After a while, the crowds gathered around but we were still the ones right up front. We knew the big named riders were about to come through there. One of the riders, NICK WEY, stopped when Zachary gave him high five. Nick Wey took off his practice gloves and gave them to Zachary. That moment was priceless for Zachary. Nick Wey even stopped for a picture!!
Zachary was amazed and so excited! He wore those gloves all day and even slept with them that night. I am so glad some of those riders took time for their little fans...
Finally, it was time to meet James Bubba Stewart. There were hundreds of people wanting to meet him but only the first 50 or so we able to meet him. People were offering to pay us for our spot in line. No way!
Standing in line for over three hours paid off when you saw Zachary's face up close with his favorite rider...

After the pits, we headed off to the Georgia Dome to watch the practices and prepare to the main event!
Our seats were in the upper level but were the very first row on the isle. We intentionally bought these seats to make it easier for Zachary to see and quicker to leave for bathroom breaks...

Saying the National Anthem...
The main event (with fireworks and all).
After all long day, Zachary had a smile ear to ear. He had such a wonderful time. Watching and riding dirt bikes may not be what I would chose to do for the weekend, but I would do anything to make Zachary happy!
