Split Creek Goat Farm

Today we spent the morning at Split Creek Goat Farm in Anderson for their "Kids Meeting Kids Day." It was all about children being able to hold, pet and play with the baby goats. The boys had a blast and learned so much about farm life! Everything sold on the farm is organic. The store has meat, cheese, yogurt, milk and fudge that we were able to sample! We all had a great learning experience!
There were goats of all sizes, huge sheep dogs, farm cats, pot bellied pigs, chickens, roosters, baby chicks, guinea pigs, a horse and a donkey...

The Guinea Pig...
They had a "Kids Pen" with baby goats that were 9-12 weeks old. The boys had fun playing with them...a few times the goats were caught nibbling on their shirts!
Zach was a little scared to go in the pen but soon realized the goats just wanted to play...
This billy goat jumped up on the hay bale to get a nibble on Will's ear! Will's expression was priceless but I was standing behind him!

I think Zach would have taken this one home...

This is the huge rabbit...
There were at least 500 animals on this farm, mostly goats. The boys were even able to hand feed the momma and daddy goats and touch a pot bellied pig!

Only one incident...Will saw some baby chicks so he walked over to get a closer look under the deck of a shop...The momma was not too happy and started yelling and flapping her wings. Just made enough noise to scare Will away from her babies!

FYI - This farm is always open to the public!
